I don't see the need for it.  I just don't get the idea of trading for less skill.

Not a big fan of it.  I like the way Bennett is playing as well so I hope this doesn't bump him from the line-up.  If you're going to move a top prospect you might as well throw in a 1st and go all in with Iginla.  Morrow's skil lset seems to be in decline and I can't see him playing on the third line either.

Over the past few weeks, various sites had noted the lack of sellers versus previous years.  I guess that drives the price up, supply versus demand and all that.  I think Hoe Morrow is a really high price to pay for a guy on the decline.  Pens are knee -deep in D-men but I think you get more in return than Brendan Morrow

Also think the trade for Douglas Murray is unnecessary.  Eaton has been a nice add.  Depres shouldn't sit.  If you need muscle, Engelland or Burtuzzo.  Usually Shero looks good during trade deadline time.  Not this year.

Yeah not liking the Murray trade either.  He's frankly not very good at anything besides hitting people.  I really hope they don't send Depres or Bennett down because of this shit, since they are the only 2 on the 25 man that wouldn't have to clear waivers.  But somethings gotta give with Morrow in the mix, Tanger and Malkin coming back, and now Murray as well.

It would seem we could afford to deal a player off our NHL roster, with all the overcrowding.  Maybe Shero still isn't done.  Though with 12 straight wins, it's hard to see what they could be doing better.

The Murray trade makes me wonder if there aren't doubts about Eaton's long-term viability.

Well I'd release Tanner Glass because he's worthless (he might as well be skating around out there with a baseball bat) and try to sneak Bortuzzo through waivers.  That's not what's going to happen though.  Maybe a guy like TK or Jeffrey gets moved.

I'd way rather see Kennedy go than Jeffrey.

And like clockwork, Depres sent down.  Great timing sending your 3rd or 4th best defenseman down when your trying to hold off Montreal for the # 1 seed tonight.  What the hell does Bylsma and Shero have against playing rookies?

I actually really like the Morrow deal. We gave up a prospect at a position that we are currently stock-piled with, and a 5th round pick. We also got a 3rd round pick back, and a proven vet that we're gonna need come playoff time. I think Morrow can still play, and I think he fills a role that we were really missing in last season's early playoff exit.

Don't know too much about Murray. Although, I like the idea of a guy who can bring some more physicality to the team. I hope it's not at the expense of good defense though. We'll see, I guess.

I read earlier that Iginla to Boston was a done deal, but I just got an update on my phone... He's a Penguin! Still waiting to hear who we gave up.

Holy Crap.

Besides the first round pick, they gave up basically nothing.  I still think the Murray trade sucks (if this was Murray 2 years ago I would have liked it) and the Morrow trade is growing on me.  Damn though, we can run three fucking killer lines out there now not counting double shifting Sid and Geno.

Kunitz-Crosby-Iginla
Neal-Malkin-Morrow
Cooke-Sutter-Dupuis
Adams-Jeffery/Vitale-Kennedy/Bennett

Yeah.  I'm sure they'll at least try Morrow on the 2nd line for a while, maybe move bennett back if it doesn't work.  They'll probably keep Glass in the line-up too but I wouldn't

Yeah if you include Sutter every goal last night came from a player Shero acquired this season.  When I see #10 skating around out there I can only think of one thing:  Scary Gary version 2.0.
