As we take the time to mourn the retirement of one of the all-time greats, let's pause a minute and give Commish Bonzr a chance to post the final rosters from last year so's we can name our keepers.  And decide if we want to run auto-finny or offer the slot up to a noob.

I vote run auto-finny. I would be willing to help Jonzr with roster maintenance.

I would like to make it known that Fred Smoot has a strong desire to retire as a member of Finneganswake.  I have a contract around somewhere...hmmm...we ll at least a strong verbal agreement in principle from Finny to trade Adrian Peterson to the Mongrels for the rights to Smoot.

By "strong verbal agreement" I mean a random utterance during a Nyquiltini-induced delirium, but I think it's still legal.

Yahoo had a new option and it looks like I gave everyone has their roster from last season. I need to peruse what to do about that.

Oh, it's so that each player can manage their keepers.

Everyone, pick your two keepers.  Afterwards I'll approve the list and the remaining players will be released to the wild to be selected during the draft.

Live draft scheduled for Fri, Aug 30th @ 6:00pm CDT, that's 7:00pm EDT, people.

This auto-finny option sounds intriguing.  But it would be easier to see if anyone wants to move into that slot.  So, w/out further ado ...

Anyone from the MGS FFL Too league want to join this league?  First come.

If we're bringing in someone from MGS FFL II, it should be the man/woman who won last year.  IIRC that's what we did in the olden days.

Too late, you're already stuck with me.  Preacherman came in second and TucsonSteeler finished third.

Everyone now can designate their keepers via the Yahoo! team page.  Look around a bit, you'll see the "Keeper" link up top near the seasonal stats links.

In other words, I don't have to keep up with y'alls stinkin' keepers no mo.  Muaahahahahahahaaaa.

Fuck you, you fucking pogue.  I darfted AP in the fourth round his rookie FF season and kept him until the ill-fated 2012 season when, considering the return from injury, I cut him loose, fucking curse my arse.  Might not be quitting FF were it not for that decision, which sucked the soul outta me like a cajun sucking the head of a crawfish.

So, you'll come back for a little AP?  You can have him for Rogers.

But everyone should still post their keepers here.  It will help those of us who don't auto draft organize our thoughts.

Settings show setting keepers ends Monday night 1159p (just as a reminder as I likely would have waited until Thursday had I not thought of checking on how to do it this morning)

Was gonna keep Michael Turner and Aaron Hernandez but will go with Beardy and Trent Richardson instead

Man, the new yahoo format is alot clumsier than it used to be.  I chose my keepers, they were supposed to be official last night, but I'll be damned if I can find any evidence of who kept whom on there.

If the two empty slots aren't filled then we're still even and that's OK, I'll adjust the league and we'll roll.

Everyone, you have to choose your keepers at the Yahoo! FF site, it's a new thing.  Don't get fucked over b/c you didn't do it.

Go to "My Team", click the tab at the far right of the page that says "Keepers".  There should be a check mark beside the two players you chose to keep.  I don't think you can see who other teams keepers are.

Keepers are in, y'all might wanna check those.  Turns out I still had to do it manually, but the list was prepared since you guys selected already, so it was easier.   Don't know why they couldn't have gone that extra step.

For now, I own Finny's team, but will xfer that to Penso after the draft, or before if he'd like to make the picks.  Otherwise, I chose Rodgers as his keeper and will let auto draft do the picks.

Then he or I will put the best roster forward each week.  But everyone should feel free to make suggestions if you feel the roster is being managed unfairly, etc.

Jonz, one suggestion (and I coulda swore we talked about doing this last year)...

I think we should add a waiver priority to potential free agents.  It should start based off of last season's final rankings.  Once you pick somebody up, you get bumped to the bottom of the list.  It would give teams in the cellar a chance at grabbing someone who's available.

The MGS attempt at maintaining "parity."

I'm torn on this.  IIRC we used to run priority, not sure when it changed.  I tend to be hyperactive on the waiver front so I kinda like it as is.
