...should the Steelers make a play?

I'd cut Gilbert immediately and have Martin and Adams battle over the LT job.  Loser plays RT.  They're both really RTs, but I think Martin would be better than either Adams or Gilbert.  Assuming he's looking to stay in the league, of course.

Would pretty much eliminate the need to spend much, if any, picks on the offensive side of the ball.  Maybe a big assed TE or WR and that's about it.  Use all remaining picks on defense...CB, S, NT, ILB...maybe sing a B level player or two for those positions.  Get younger, faster, almost overnight.

Overly optimistic?  Yes.  Martin is shit in pass pro, somewhere between meh and good in the run game.  I thought he was over-rated and soft coming out of Stanford, and can't see as he's any improvement over Gilbert, or Adams, or Beachum for that matter.


Now, I'd replace Whimper with him as a backup...
