Here's the thing:  With Haley running the show his way and the defense being what it is, the Steelers are terrible. With Ben kind of getting his way, it actually gives them a chance to win. Thereby raising this team to the same level as most of the league. Mediocrity reigns.

So 15 is about where one might expect the Steelers to draft. Which is a darn shame, since they need a chance to get that player that can lift them just above mediocre. As you know, you don't have to be great these days, just "above mediocre" is a chance at the Super Bowl.

Steelers Analysis:

The Steelers beat the browns 27-11 this week and extended their winning streak to 3 games. They have won 5 of their last 7 games and are actually looking like a team worth watching again. Their draft position again fell after the win, but only from 15 to 17; however, they are now tied with 6 other AFC teams at 5-6. This is actually good enough for 6th in the conference and while they do not currently have the tie-breaker to hold the last playoff spot currently (Tennessee does), some would say that out of the 6 teams, they are the favorite to end up with it. I can't disagree at this point with the way they have been playing. They certainly have the best QB out of those teams (ranked as follows IMO - Roethlisberger, Rivers, Flacco, Tannehill, Fitzpatrick, and Smith).

With all of this information in mind, this thread is going to change a little bit. I will still list all of the teams draft positions just to keep track of it throughout the season, but I am doing away with which teams to root for in the upcoming games since the criteria may change depending on whether you are going for the draft pick, winning the division, or making the playoffs. If there is anything worth mentioning in that regard, I will try to put it into the analysis section. I am also adding sections for the Current League Standings and Playoff Picture.

Week 13 is huge for the AFC playoff picture with the Steelers and Ravens playing on Thanksgiving, and Sunday games that include the Titans @ Colts, Dolphins @ Jets, Bengals @ Chargers, Broncos @ Chiefs. If the Steelers can beat the Ravens, and the chargers beat the Bengals, the Steelers could find themselves right back into the division race and improve their position in the Wild card race. There are also some big games with playoff implications in the NFC. Packers @ Lions on Thanksgiving is huge for the NFC North Division race with the Packers trying to stay afloat until Rogers returns from injury. Sunday games include the Cardinals @ Eagles and Rams @ 49ers which could be big for the Wild Card race. Finally, the Monday night matchup Saints @ Seahawks could determine who has home field advantage throughout the playoffs in the NFC.

Forgot to mention, I respectfully disagree with this mentality.  Yeah, it'd be nice to have a high pick, but that's no guarantee that (1) the draft pick turns out to be a stud or (2) the team will go from good to great because of him.  And, that's not even factoring in other variables that they can't control like injuries.

It sucks that they started out 0-4, but I'll be goddamned if I write the season off because of it.  Week to week.  Game to game.  Just.  Win.
