What a strange fantasy regular season.  From Finny’s ill-resolved holdout (the league was willing to give him the nyquiltini concession but balked at his demands for the midget hooker revenues) to pensod’s winning of the coveted *snickers* draft award to y(zwei)joyce’s miracle finish, it was season everyone will remember and all will want to forget.

First, a salute to those teams that earned byes for the next three weeks.

Who didn't make it:
Spen’s Spen’s Good Citizens

Feeling the public outcry over the fascist Angry Reds identity, Spen fell hard to the most heartbreaking end in league history.  Y2Joyce nipped him at the post by .02 points.  Insult to injury, because Spen lived up to the Good Citizen moniker and set his lineups every week, something Joyce did not do.  It also removes Peyton Manning from the post-season mix.

Possible keepers:  P. Manning

KC’s Keystone Cops
KC sucked with Luck through the last part of the season, when it appeared Eli was no longer playable.  Also hamstrung by the uneven combo of C.J. Spiller and Steven Jackson— his first two picks.

Possible keepers: Maybe Spiller?

Scacalaki’s Hungry Whoremongers

Another team that received bad luck and uneven play at a marquee position and draft slot, in this case, Beardy.  His other keeper?  Trent Richardson.  At least it means we don’t have deal with Brady in real life and fantasy too.  Shrewdly picked up Doug Martin off the IR, could be big if they ever dump Schiano.

Possible keepers:  Beardy? Martin?

Jonzr’s Felonius Thunk

What to say about the fighting bonzrs?  Quite possibly one of the worst drafts in league history?  Besides keeping ADAP, he went MJD in the 2nd and Shonn Greene in the 6th.  I think the commish was trying to send us all a message that you can still fail in this league without having a successful draft.

Possible keeper: ADAP

The matchups:

#1 pensodyssey's Chickens of Cromartie-Gao vs. #8 Y2Joyce’s Joycean Pros

The chickens were the regular season’s dominant team, remaining undefeated until week 9 and finishing with two overall losses.  Although the rb combo of Shady McCoy and Reggie Bush posted only average to slightly above numbers, the chix hit waiver gold with Zac Stacy and Rashad Jennings.  As for joce, we offer our condolences over the tragic events that led to his thumbs and fingers falling into a vat of acid and rendering him unable to set his lineup.

#4 Robofinny’s El bastardos robos vs. #5 msdmnr's Msdmnr’s Mongrels

As usual with a 4-5 matchups, there’s not a lot to separate the two teams.  The robos finished with 9 wins, the mongreloids with 7; but msdmnr finished with about 30 more points.  He’s got Brees going versus CAR, and A.J. Green versus IND.  The robos need a couple of games to be shootouts, notably McCown versus DAL and D. Jackson versus DET.  Everyone is well aware of Msdmnr's robot fetish, however, and that could prove to be a distraction.

#3 aj_law’s Beastmode vs. #6  Captain Chaos’ Chaos Unlimited

AJ finished strong, with second half contributions from Leveon Bell and Jordan Reed.  He’s got a big choice this weekend, one that could decide the matchup: Newton @NO or Pip Livers versus NYG?  The sacred Chaos won the Foles sweepstakes, and with a big portion of the Denver offense (Moreno and Decker) might be the team no one wants to play right now.

#2 Pain’s The Touchy Feelies vs. #7 kluisi’s BenRapedMeToo

Though still the league newb, Pain finished second in the league by record and by points scored.  His hopes are saddled to Forte versus DAL and Jamaal Charles @WAS.  BRMT gets Alex Smith against that same porous Washington D, Megatron @PHI, and Jimmy Graham versus CAR.

Wait, you never got a replacement?  Seriously robo-Finnied?  And RF did ~ as well as the (still somewhat) sentient version?

Where's the incentive for the tearful return?  The triumph of man over machine?  The... wait, someone just uncorked the NyQuil.  Toodles.

Don't worry finny- we coded it just like the real thing.  Do well in the regular season, bow out in week 1 of the playoffs.

Good write up, per usual.

There is no return.  We're a cult.  When you're out, you're out...unless you want to pay a 100K fine.  In which case, your reinstatement will be considered, but not guaranteed.

Chickens succumb to the Patriot Syndrome of the last 8 or 9 years -- monstrous regular season performance, but fall short of Champeenchip.

Penso's been livin' at the Orange Julius taking on all comers Battlefield 4 style.

The champagne was out.  The T shirts and hats ready to go.  3 minutes to go and a 9 point FF lead.  FF owner Msdmnr on his way down from the luxury box.  Can't possibly go wrong.

TD to Gonzalez, who had done nothing all night.  No prob, San Fran will get the onside kick, run out the clock, game over.

No, Atl recovers, putting Gonzalez and SF D back in play.

1 1/2 minutes left - pick 6.  Add a few more salt in the wound catches from Gonzalez and it's an 18-0 run to end it, game over.

Congrats to the Feelies on a well deserved win.

Considering Mongrels were the 5 seed going in, probably shouldn't feel too bad, but with a decade of futility in their history, this one sucks.
