Using the NFLDS/CBS Sportsline player rankings, and the Steelers final draft order, your challenge is to put together the ultimate 2014 draft - no trades up or down allowed, but you do have the omniscience to see which players will be available in ensuing rounds!

How it works.  The first 14 players are off the board when the Steelers select at 1.15, so you can select ANY player ranked 15 on down to 300.

At 2.46, you can pick any player from 46 on down to 300, and so on.  Who do you take?

Saw this earlier today during lunch, and have been itching to get home and play the game.  Actually started making a more updated mock from the first this morning during coffee but could not complete it before needing to leave for work.  Funny how differing sites have such widely differing overall/positional rankings, but we'll go with what you have listed since.

1.15:  CB  OkSt  Justin Gilbert.  Nearly best available according to ranking, and position of need (although argument could be made for the 2 positions ahead of him as well I suppose).  Basically I am looking/hoping for WR Evans, CB Dennard, or Gilbert to be available and if not would like a trade back to the area of about 23 (Where WR Benjamin is still a bit of a reach but not as much as at 15...and getting additional picks later).  But since trading is not an option in this game, and 15 is too early for Benjamin............. ..

2.46:  WR Miss. Donte Moncrief.  I know, Adams is rated as best available, and I considered him (actually came down to Adams, Moncrief, or OLB Carl Bradford who I saw listed as a 5th rounder elsewhere).  I opted for Moncrief.  Slightly faster 40 (4.40 vs Adams 4.56), 1/4 in larger hands, same vertical jump but 7 inches more on the broad jump perhaps equals more explosion off the line. Played against tougher competition in SEC and not as much as a verticle passing game as Adams as Fresno (which inflates Adams numbers IMO).  21 years old, lots of growth and development to come.

3.97:  OT Tenn JaWuan James:  Bottom line from NFL.com: Big, strong, heavy pass protector with good balance, anchor strength and hand use to handle power and speed. Does not affect the run game the same way and almost appears more destined for the left side in the pros. Has instant-starter potential. Bottom line from me:  Although Defense is what I wanted to look at here, really liked the ability to look into future availability of positions.  Felt as though I found better value later for D than for O-Line

4.118: CB VaTech Antone Exum:  Injury risk that has been described previously on the site.  In my looking this morning on a different prospect ranking, had him in round 6 at 192, but not the case here.  As long as he passes the physical Im happy with him here and had he not been injured, would likely be higher

5.157:  OLB Florida Ronald Powell:  Best available at this point in a "need" position. If my reading is correct, might need his ego busted a bit, but falling to round 5 might put the proverbial chip on the shoulder to lead him to have something to prove.  Biggest question for me in injury history (left ACL torn twice in 2012)

5.173:  DT Ark St Ryan Carrethers:  Another one we have seen described here before.  Again, projection differs greatly site to site (was 4th round in my morning start).  Benched 32 times at combine.  Strengths listed as follows: Big and thick with outstanding weight-room strength -- squats a small house and maintains low body fat. Has sheer mass and natural girth to dig in and hold his ground vs. double teams. Has a wrestling background and understands leverage. Has two-gap ability. Heavy tackler. Nice effort for a big man. Tough and durable. Solid personal and football character -- is devoted to his craft and has a professional approach to the game.  Really like this pick

6.192:  RB Florida ST  James Wilder:  Character issues a concern, hopefully a thing of the past.  Needs to learn to lower his pads and not be as upright, but powerful none the less.  Needs work on both pass catching and blocking, but what the hell, we are looking at the middle of round 6. Take a shot

6.215:  DE Oregon Taylor Hart:   This is all about needing depth and liking his size.  Very coachable and hard working reputation from what I have read.  Have seen him projected as high as round 4-5.  21 reps on bench at combine.  With what I read, seems to fit nicely, with high character and work ethic

7.230:  ILB W Ky Andrew Jackson:  At this position, the "risk" (character and work ethic) is not so great.  Had he fallen into the FA range I would say priority, but as he is listed as 7 only, take it

Despite being able to see future round pick possibilities, this was difficult.  Was also going to look at the 7-FA list for "priority free agents", and might still, but enough for now.

Good work setting this up, now everyone feel free to rip up what I created

Gah, beyond the first handful of rounds, I'm useless.  A dartboard would be just as effective.

Bridgewater off the board before Bortles or Manziel??  I is amazed.

Also, Dennard, Evans and Lewan already gone at 1.15???!!!  FORK YOU,, FINGERSWACK!!!!!!!!111

Can't decide if I want to go LB/CB or CB/WR in first two rounds.

I'd like Mosley, but with them signing Moats and considering bringing JH back too, I think I'm gonna go CB/WR.

1.15:  Justin Gilbert (CB - Ok.St.)
2.46:  Jordan Matthews (WR - Vandy)
3.97 (Comp.):
4.118:
5.157:
5.173 (Comp.):
6.192:  Connor Shaw (QB - S.C.)
6.215 (Comp):
7.230:

Briefly considered Marqise Lee or Calvin Pryor at 1.15 too, but I think the Gilbert and Matthews combo give Pittsburgh a nice first couple selections in the draft.  This is all I've got so far.  Hope to be able to add to it after finding some time and doing some research.

We both went CB-WR in R1-2.  This was what I came up with, though it could change with more research.

1.15: Justin Gilbert, CB.  Some technique issues to be coached up, has the speed and measurable, is a playmaker.

2.46:  Donte Moncrief, WR.  Really high on this guy, huge upside.  A lot of good WRs in R2, but IMO Moncrief is gonna be a guy we look back on in a year and say "how did he last to round 2?"

3.97 (Comp.):  Will Clarke, DE.  Needs to add bulk, but looks like a proto 3-4 DE.  Gave Zack Martin some trouble at Senior Bowl practices.

4.118:  Phillip Gaines, CB.  Top speed, good playmaker, low LOC.  I really like this kid, and would rate him much higher even though he's a Rice product.

5.157: Dri Archer, WR.  Played the slot, some RB, KR, has speed to burn.  Too talented to pass up.

5.173 (Comp.): Seantrel Henderson, OT.  Potential LT, if he can get his head straight.  Apparently on the right track.

6.192:  Khairi Fortt, OLB.  Like Moats, more of an ILB/OLB type, bigger than all our ILBs but Moats, tested very well.  Struggled some in his transfer from PSU, but that could just make him a late round steal.

6.215 (Comp):  Logan Thomas, QB.  Best arm strength in the draft, dodgy accuracy.  Played WR in HS; convert him to WR/TE here, with the option for some QB trickeration a la Randle-el.

7.230:   De'Anthony Thomas, RB.  Amazing playmaker, would be an ideal COP back and KR guy to compete with Dri.  Ran much slower at Indy than expected, but his film is on fire.

Good with this here. He'll make an excellent TE/WR hybrid if he'll switch positions. If not he'll be destined to fail in the NFL. IMO, he won't last this long because some other team will take a chance on one of the following options:

 * wildcat QB
 * teach accuracy or
 * position switch

MODIFICATION:

Based on the reported signing of Blount for 2 yrs, I change my 6.192 pick from RB Wilder and insert  WR Jeff Janis from Saginaw Valley St.

1.15  CJ Mosley
2.46  Jordan Matthews
3.97 Louchiez Purifoy
4.118  TJ Jones
5.157  Brent Urban
5.173  Ryan Carrethers
6.192  Walt Aikens
6.215  Ethan Westbrooks
7.230   Justin Britt

Would be okay with the Oklahoma CB in the 1st but with Timmons' salary being restructured most years, he gets too expensive at some point.  Okay with Moncrief but like what I've read about Matthews.   Purifoy fits the build the Steelers like for their CBs.  The rest are really fits via positions of need (and not about the player as I'm pretty dumb to that this year)

Lemon, I missed you mock somehow, funny we shared the R1-2 picks.  I had a mock put together when I posted the game, but didn't want to influence anyone else.  I like the rest as well, I've had Andrew Jackson floating in and out of several mocks, and I think Antoine Exum could be a great CB/S type if he's healthy, a big heap o' hit.

Couple guys on Scac's I'd need to look up, but not a fan of the Fla CBs.  And Mosley, my questions are with his past injuries.
