Whoa! Merman called it.

This can only be good news, I guess. I hope the new GM don't go overboard with this "blow up" and do something silly like trade Malkin...

ESPN just changed their report, apparently Bylsma still has his job. New GM will determine his fate.

Wow, I didn't expect this from Mario et al.  He'd never shown much regard for coaches in his time as player but he played almost his whole career under one GM.

Shero went from being the "best GM in hockey" to roadkill in a year.

What the hell? Honestly this doesn't make any sense. Are they just trying to keep Disco out of Washington?

What a Mickey Mouse way to handle things.  Seems like something the freaking Pirates would do.

Totally agree, except you're too hard on the Bucs.  Like I said in the other thread, they're acting like the Flyers.

Saw Babcock's name out there.  That's not really plausible, is it?

Heard some Babcock rumors too. He's got a year left in Detroit though and I honestly can't remember the last NHL coach to leave for a new team with time left on his deal.  FWIW Babcock rumors surfaced when Toronto was looking to replace Carlyle too.

Have always heard Babcock wanted to coach Sid. And they won 2 gold medals together, so there is that I guess.

For the record I have no problem firing Bylsma and I'm 50-50 on Shero, but it makes zero sense to fire the gm and keep the same voice in the locker room.  But they've already handled this very poorly.

Shero is very hit and miss but there are some baaaad gms out there.

Yeah, the logic isn't sound. The new GM should pick his coach, why make him fire Bylsma too?

If they hired Babcock... that would be the fucking tits. That's really the only way I know how to put it. It would be the fucking tits.
