Big Ben is the Comeback Kid

December 14, 2008

There were 92 yards between the Steelers and the Raven’s goal line.  Roughly 2:45 later and Big Ben was hitting Santonio Holmes for the game-winning touchdown. Three of their last five victories have required a late-game comeback of some sort.  The controversial ending in San Diego had a late 4th quarter drive to set up the winning field goal by Reed.  Last week against the Cowboys saw a late drive tie the game before Deshea…

Beat Down at Lady Gillette

It was a rainy day along much of the East Coast, fitting weather as the Patriots’ defense threatened to rain on the Steelers‘ hopes of a road win. Big Ben’s second pass from scrimmage was intercepted and quickly converted into a Patriots touchdown. The next possession was a 3-and-out. The game had ugly potential before it started. Steelers Sidestep Trap

October 19, 2008

It was looming ahead of them: a road matchup with the 0-6 Bengals. The trap was set but the cats from Ohio placed it in plain sight. Coming off a bye week amid speculations of rust and worries of falling for a trap, the Steelers roll over the Bengals 38-10 and head home to regroup for a tough four game stretch. This game had a little something for every Steeler fan: crushing blows, outstanding defense,…

Nemesis Defeated

Finally the Steelers get the better of the hated Jax Jags. Big Ben and the boys got off to a great start on the first drive. They efficiently moved the ball down the field. And in one play they were down 7-0, victims of an INT returned all the way home. It was a deflating moment that no doubt had many Steelers fans sighing and thinking, “Here we go again.” They received the next kickoff…
