Locke begins starter competition in earnest
Jeff Locke opened the intense competition for spots in the Pirates' starting rotation Saturday in their GR***fruit League opener against the Rays, and he set the bar high, hurling three hitless innings to start a 3-2 victory at Charlotte Sports Park.
