One of the chief aims behind this Friday's release of The Three Stooges is to bring back to the big screen the slapstick comedy of Moe Howard, Curly Howard and Larry Fine. That's why, even though the Farrelly brothers film works as a straightforward narrative, it's divided into three segments, mimicking the shorts that made up the trio's act, which began more than 75 years ago.
